about
After graduating from the University of Calgary, Monica worked several jobs at two courthouses, a regulatory body, and a legislative office. In addition to her actual job, she found that she was constantly planning and designing company and employee events. To help her figure out if she can have a career with a creative edge, she took numerous continuing education courses and accumulated several certificates. Becoming a Certified Wedding Planner with the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada made her realize her true passion lies with event design. Monica started Wishahmon-Wedding Creations in 2008 and Wishahmon-Event Creations in 2011.
An important thing you need to know about Monica is she asks a lot of questions. (Her chiropractor even said this to her.) Monica is the person that would ask a stranger at the grocery store: How are you planning on cooking the package of pork chops you have in your hand? How long is the prep and cooking time? What other dishes are you cooking with the pork chops?
Asking a lot of questions is not a bad quality when planning and designing events. Before setting up a meeting to discuss your event, Monica takes the time to research and learn as much as possible about your organization or cause. At the meeting, she will have her questions neatly typed out and categorized. This is part of her charm and how she makes sure she has all the facts when designing an event. When designing an event, Monica ensures that what is important to the client is always incorporated into the design. She believes an event design has to be in line with the client's beliefs and vision all while being unique, fabulous, and memorable to guests.
