MONICA

The one that started it all. Wishahmon - Wedding Creations was created by Monica to unite her passion for weddings and decorating. Rather than making New Year's resolutions, she opts to learn something new every year. Since she started doing this, she became a Certified Wedding Planner with the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada and has Certificates in Floral Design and Feng Shui from the Mount Royal University. Growing up as an only child, she frequented fabric stores with her mom (like a good daughter) and home improvement stores with her dad (like a good son). Her acquired skills in both areas now help with her custom wedding designs. She loves to hear how couples get engaged and carries a ton of tissue with her because she cries at every wedding. Monica is "the girlfriend that never gets tired of talking about your wedding."

DOREEN

Keeps everyone on their toes. Doreen is the only person on the team that wears a watch. Because of this, she is able to yell out the time every 15 minutes to ensure a wedding a decorated on time. She also lets the team know when it is time to work quickly and when to work really quickly. Doreen never breaks a sweat when decorating a wedding (no matter the weather or time crunch). A true fashionista, she brings her fashion sense to each and every wedding design. If you happen to see our team decorating an event you can easily tell which one is Doreen. She is the one wearing a watch, yelling out the time, and wearing really cute shoes.

KATIE

The strongest of the girls. You would not guess this by looking at Katie. When one of the other girls is looking for a trolley to carry the decorations, you can bet Katie has already lifted the decorations, carried them into the venue, and started decorating with them. Katie gets the job done when Monica or Doreen are still in deep discussion (or puzzled) about the execution of the design and it always looks great. She is our checks and balances girl. Katie will tell you when a design can be much better.

YAN

Gets from Point A to Point B the fastest. We are not talking about Yan's driving skills here. When there are overly complicated instructions to create a wedding design, Yan simplifies the process to only one or two steps to achieve the same or better look. She is not afraid to tell whoever is passing by to hand her a pin or ribbon. She will holler at you to help regardless if you are the cook, groom, or baker. Each time Yan is present at a venue decorating, you can ensure that the design has changed slightly for the better and completed in half the time.

VINCE

Confused "muscle" man. Vince often wonders why he is with a bunch of girls decorating a wedding. The rest of the team does not attempt to clarify his confusion because his muscles are always appreciated. He will carry all the chiffon needed for a wedding, but has absolutely no idea how to decorate with it. Vince will do anything asked of him except wear a pink Wishahmon t-shirt around town. That is where he draws the line.

TIFFANIE / ALEX

The next generation. Tiffanie and Alex are the newest members of the team. When asked to do a specific decorating task, Tiffanie often stares at you like you have three heads. But after the staring wears off, she learns and works quickly. Alex enjoys calling other team members by different names. The joke is really on him because no one responds to him when he needs help with a specific decorating task. Both are promising as protégés but at this time they are still deciding whether to become an event designer or a doctor.

EVA

Design extraordinaire and mind reader. Eva has two main tasks: To create wonderful graphic/website design for the company and interpret Monica's wishy-washy instructions. The working relationship between the two has grown to the point that Monica would say "I would like the next page design to evoke happy feelings as if you are eating a huge plate of poutine while sitting on a cloud watching a rainbow." Always polite, Eva would say "Thank you for your clear instructions. I will design something wonderful." (And she always does!)
